Passenger update -- 30 weeks

Hello from Momma and Zachary Chad! (We can officially use the name now!!!)

We are 30 weeks along! Isn't this amazing?! Time is flying by! Our due date is 10 weeks away and we are so anxious and excited, just counting every single day that stands between us and holding our little man.

Anyway, here is what Mr. ZZ is up to in the cozy comforts of Momma's belly:

(From babycenter.com):
How your baby's growing:
Your baby's about 15.7 inches long now, and she weighs almost 3 pounds (like a head of cabbage). A pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounds her, but that volume will decrease as she gets bigger and takes up more room in your uterus. Her eyesight continues to develop, though it's not very keen; even after she's born, she'll keep her eyes closed for a good part of the day. When she does open them, she'll respond to changes in light but will have 20/400 vision — which means she can only make out objects a few inches from her face. (Normal adult vision is 20/20.)

(From whattoexpect.com):
Your Baby in Week 30 of Pregnancy
Your belly’s increasing size is a definite clue that your baby is getting bigger every day, weighing in at over three pounds now (he’ll be packing on the weight at a rate of half a pound per week for the next seven weeks). Also growing daily is his brain, which is actually starting to look like the real thing with those characteristic grooves and wrinkles. And now that your little genius can regulate his own body temperature and turn up the heat, he'll start shedding lanugo, the downy body hair that's been keeping him warm up until now.

Our baby's a cabbage now?! They can't find any better vegetable to compare to then one of the stinkiest foods in the world? I think it's amazing that he's three pounds and will start growing at half a pound a week! It's taken me 30 weeks to put three pounds on him, and now... he's going to be a giant monster! (In a good way of course!)

We have a doctor's appointment this afternoon and I will update you on our progress after that. I've been having some funky symptoms lately (really, I think I'm just officially starting to feel very, very pregnant) so I'll be happy to have all my nerves temporarily calmed down by Dr. C.
