Today is officially our V-Day. Not Valentine's Day. Not a movement to end violence against women (although that is important.)
No, loved ones. Today is Viability Day.
Thanks to the amazing accomplishments in the medical field, a preterm baby delivered at 24 weeks or later has a strong ability to survive and lead a normal life.
While we hope (and pray... and INSIST) that Baby Z stays inside his little pod until we're between 37 and 42 weeks (basically whenever he's ready), it is comforting to know that he is developing so much that nearly all of his organs are at or near functioning levels (you worry about lungs the most at this point in the game).
Our little man is much more active recently. I feel him several times a day and love every second of it. It's a reassuring comfort to know that he is doing just fine, practicing his baseball pitch presumably. :-)
