Hello loved ones!
Our little "passenger" has a doctor's appointment today and we're very excited to hear that beautiful heartbeat again -- and to schedule the "BIG" ultrasound!!!
In the meantime, welcome to Week 17 - here's what Little Baby Z is up to right about now:
How your baby's growing:
Your baby's skeleton is changing from soft cartilage to bone, and the umbilical cord — her lifeline to the placenta — is growing stronger and thicker. Your baby weighs 5 ounces now (about as much as a turnip), and she's around 5 inches long from head to bottom. She can move her joints, and her sweat glands are starting to develop.
Guess what?! No fruit reference... ok, the turnip thing clearly speaks only to baby's weight, plus turnips are NOT fruit.
My friend Ashley gave the baby belly a pat yesterday and said she noticed a definite change. I think she described it as "hard" which I accept because I'm finally starting to get comments about looking pregnant and whatnot. I love it!
We'll write again after our appointment today. Wish us luck!
