The expectant father and the sniffly mother

Momma Z2b has a cold.
Pregnancy, as I've discovered, makes one incredibly strong and incredibly weak all at one time.

I've handled morning sickness, nausea, weird cravings, appetite changes, stretching and pulling of my skin, and pretty much all of my body. And I think I've handled it well.
The last few days, I had noticed an increase in sniffles. For all the pregnant info you ever wanted, at about the second trimester, you get in increase in snot and other fluid-y membrane stuff that is all gross.
But then my sniffles turned into an all-out cold Saturday morning. I slept horribly Friday night because I just couldn't breathe very well, which on top of being uncomfortable and peeing a lot (do I sound like a whiner? Ehhhh, sorry), made it difficult to find some zzzz's.

I'm not usually a pill poppper by any means, but I know that God (or a pharmacist) invented Advil and Benadryl for a reason.
Now and for the rest of this pregnancy (and breast-feeding apparently) Advil and Benadryl are on a long list of no-nos.

After 24 hours of snorting Vicks VapoRub for temporary relief, I finally caved and asked/begged my amazing husband to go 20 minutes away to get some of the sanctioned medicines I can take (namely Tylenol). What a difference. I feel a bit better. The headache is for the most part gone and I've been breathing through my nose most of the day.

Speaking of my husband, I have to brag about how amazing he is.

Just this weekend alone, he's spent countless hours doing things around the house... shoveling the 20 or so inches of snow, running to a further store because local ones didn't have my medicines, cooking all of our meals and doing a lot of chores and tasks around the house.

This evening, he took a few minutes to read his The Expectant Father book. Just seeing him catch up on what to expect in month 4 makes me smile.

I try to thank him and tell him how much I appreciate everything several times a day. I know all of this will be well worth it for both of us when we're holding a beautiful (or handsome) baby in our arms this summer.
